1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing our website at mahjandmosey.com or registering for any retreat offered by Mahj & Mosey ("we," "our," or "us"), you ("Guest") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully before completing your registration.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not register for or attend our retreats.
2. Retreat Registration & Payment
Registration for a retreat is confirmed only upon receipt of full payment (or a deposit, if applicable) and a confirmation email from us. We reserve the right to decline or cancel any registration at our discretion.
All prices are listed in US dollars. Payment is due at the time of booking unless otherwise stated. By providing payment information, you represent that you are authorized to use the payment method provided.
3. Cancellation & Refund Policy
We do not offer monetary refunds. All payments are final.
If you need to cancel your reservation, we will try our best to fill your spot from out waitlist, if we are unable to then you will not receive a refund.
To cancel, you must notify us in writing at mahjandmosey@gmail.com.
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances.
4. Retreat Modifications & Cancellations by Us
We reserve the right to modify retreat dates, programming, or accommodations, or to cancel a retreat entirely due to insufficient enrollment, instructor illness, acts of nature, or other circumstances beyond our control.
In the event we cancel a retreat:
You will receive a full credit toward a future retreat of equal or lesser value, or
At our discretion, a full monetary refund.
We are not responsible for any travel, lodging, or other costs you incur in connection with a cancelled retreat.
5. Accommodations & Meals
Your retreat registration includes multi-night lodging and meals as specified in your retreat package details. Specific room assignments and meal options are subject to availability and our operational decisions.
Dietary needs: Please notify us of any dietary restrictions or allergies at the time of registration. While we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests, we cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment.
Room assignments: We do not guarantee specific room types. If you have accessibility requirements, please contact us in advance so we can make appropriate arrangements.
Damage: You are responsible for any damage you cause to accommodations, furnishings, or property during your stay. Costs of repair or replacement may be charged to the payment method on file.
6. Code of Conduct
We are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all guests. By attending, you agree to:
Treat all guests, staff, and instructors with courtesy and respect.
Refrain from harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior of any kind.
Follow all house rules of the retreat venue.
Respect the game of mahjong and the spirit of fair play.
We reserve the right to remove any guest from a retreat at any time for violating this Code of Conduct, without refund or credit.
7. Assumption of Risk & Liability Waiver
Participation in retreat activities, including mahjong gameplay, group excursions, and social events, involves inherent risks. By registering and attending, you voluntarily assume all such risks.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mahj & Mosey, its owners, staff, instructors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any injury, illness, loss, theft, or damage to person or property arising from your participation in a retreat, including any damages resulting from the acts or omissions of other guests.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mahj & Mosey from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your attendance or conduct at a retreat.
8. Health & Medical Responsibility
You represent that you are in adequate health to participate in retreat activities. You are solely responsible for any medical conditions, prescriptions, or health needs during the retreat. We do not provide medical services. In the event of a medical emergency, we will contact emergency services, but we assume no responsibility for medical costs or outcomes.
9. Photography & Media
We may take photographs or video at retreat events for use in our marketing materials, website, and social media. By attending, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use your likeness in such materials. If you do not wish to be photographed, please notify us in writing before the retreat.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on our website, including text, images, logos, and programming materials, is owned by or licensed to Mahj & Mosey and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used without our prior written consent.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Chicago, IL.
12. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The revised Terms will be posted on our website with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Site or registration for future retreats constitutes acceptance of any updated Terms.
